PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — President Barack Obama is asking Congress for $1.9 billion so health officials can begin developing a vaccine for the Zika virus.

House Democrats are now calling for Congress to reconvene early to provide the emergency funding. Among them is Congressman David Cicilline, who believes lawmakers shouldn’t have left until the issue was addressed.

In the above video, Congressman Cicilline joins us live in studio to discuss that, along with his efforts to expand Social Security benefits and his support for Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House.
