Cicilline Statement on Trump Delaying Mass Deportations

Saturday, June 22, 2019

PAWTUCKET - Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) Chair David N. Cicilline (RI-01) issued the following statement today:

“It’s now clear that the President is using immigrant families as a bargaining chip to force taxpayers to build him an expensive, ineffective wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.”

“Instead of threatening to tear more families apart, the President should be working with Congress to fix our immigration system. Instead of taking advice from Fox News TV personalities, the President should be meeting with members of both parties to find a real solution for the growing humanitarian crisis on our southern border.”

“Immigration reform is a serious issue. The President’s approach for dealing with it has been anything but.”
