Cicilline to Live Tweet, Fact Check Presidential Address

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

WASHINGTON - Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) Co-Chair David N. Cicilline (RI-01) will live Tweet the President’s Oval Office address and correct the record if and when the President lies about the situation at the border. Cicilline will be Tweeting from www.twitter.com/davidcicilline.

“There’s little doubt that the President will use the public airwaves tonight to spread fear and misinformation in order to advance his own agenda,” said Cicilline, who visited El Paso, Texas and Alamogordo, New Mexico as part of a fact-finding delegation yesterday. “It’s important that the American people know the truth. Democrats are going to do everything we can to make sure this President is held accountable whenever he tries to mislead our constituents.”

According to the Washington Post, the President has lied or misstated the facts more than 6,200 times during his term in office - https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2018/11/02/president-trump-has-made-false-or-misleading-claims-over-days/.
