Cicilline Statement on End of Family Separation Policy

Wednesday, June 20, 2018

WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-01), who visited the U.S.-Mexico border this weekend to see the effects of President Trump’s cruel family separation policy firsthand, issued the following statement today:

“This is pathetic. Apparently the President is fine to keep immigrant families together as long as he can keep them behind bars indefinitely. That’s not a solution. He created this crisis with his ‘zero tolerance’ policy that treats asylum seekers as criminals. Nothing in this executive order changes that.”
